a. 词汇包：
ahead adv. 向前面；
ahead的用法
1. 是副词，不要把它误认为是名词：
正：There’s danger ahead. 前面有危险。
误：There’s danger in [at] ahead.
2. 主要用作状语，有时也用作后置定语或表语：
The road ahead was full of sheep. 前面的路上全是羊。
3. 用于 ahead of, 注意以下用法：
(1) 指时间或空间的“在…之前”：
He left one day ahead of me. 他比我早走一天。
(2) 表示“比…强 (高)” (主要用作表语)：

三、学情分析
1.九年级的学生对Could you please…?句型有了一定的认识和理解（八年级下册Unit3），为进一步学习奠定了基础；对that/whether/if 引导的宾语从句有了一定的认识和理解（九上Unit2），本单元前三课时对wh-引导的宾语从句进行了认识。为本课时进一步巩固wh-引导的宾语从句奠定了基础。
2.九年级的学生已经具备了根据关键信息（关键词，关键句型）理解文章的能力。本课继续巩固根据关键词理解句子的能力，根据上下文关键句型进行猜词、推理的能力。
3.九年级的学生对于礼貌礼仪有了一定的了解，但不太深入，对于不同文化下不同的礼貌用语了解不多。本课继续学习在不同文化下不同的询问技巧，学会不同的环境下，使用合适的语言来礼貌地询问和准确地回答。

教材分析
本单元是九年级Unit 12，单元授课时间接近初三上学期期末，话题材料是通过对过去事件的复述来让学生体会“生活充满意外”这一主题。语法学习方面。教材前几个单元都是对初一、初二语法知识的复习，本单元是对初二学习的现在完成时的升华，让学生学习过去完成时的用法。虽然这一时态在初中考纲中的要求是学生了解即可,对运用性的要求不高,但为了帮助学生更好地理解发生在过去的事件之间的顺序关系,以及学会如何更有逻辑地去跟别人讲述过去发生的事,教师认为有必要对过去完成时进行讲解。本单元的教学重点在于描述某件事的过程和人物的感受,以及学习相关的词汇、句型及文章结构。
根据教学课时的安排,本单元共6个课时,内容为教材的第89页至第96页,具体课时安排如下:
