2020版高考英语(人教版)新探究大一轮复习练习:必修1 Unit 1 课后达标检测 含答案解析
(建议用时:30分钟)Ⅰ阅读理解A(2019·惠州高三第一次调研)I was selfish as a teenager. I usually spent my timethinking about myself and taking care of my own needs. I let my older brother do most of the work around the house until he left for college. I let my mom and dad worry about our bills and problems while I read books, played, and lost myself in my own imagination. This didn’t change even when I went to college either. I studied hard but only to make my own life better. Even when I started to explore my faith, it was only to increase my own happiness.I married after graduation and decided to start a family. Of course, I had no idea what hard knocks reality had in store for my selfish soul. Soon I found myself unemployed, deeply in debt, and with a new baby on the way. I found out that life has little sympathy for spoiled people. In fact, all of the struggles I was going through were beating the selfishness slowly out of me.Still, I didn’t give up on happiness. I knew that there must be a way to find it. I finally realized, however, that it had to include more than just my own needs, wants, and desires. The answer began to make itself clear one night shortly after my baby boy was born. I got a bottle and held him in my arms. As I was feeding him I looked down and saw his big, innocent, trusting eyes. I smiled and talked to him. Then he smiled and I could feel my heart growing, expanding with love. I felt such peace and joy. At that moment I had a hint of the truth: it is by growing our hearts with love that we find our happiness.Carolyn Arends wrote: “The more people you let into your heart, the bigger your heart gets. The more love you get, the more love you have to give. It just keeps growing.”So, keep loving, keep living and keep caring. Keep growing your heart today, tomorrow, and always.【解题导语】本文是一篇夹叙夹议文,主要讲述作者由一个自私的人成长为一个心中对他人有爱的人,也明白了“爱他人即幸福”的道理。

B(2019·广东七校高三第一次联考)On January 13, 2016, France became the first country in the world to pass a law requiring supermarkets to donate food that is approaching its expiration date(保质期) instead of throwing it away. The regulation that applies to supermarkets over 4,000 square feet requires stores to sign official donation agreements with local food banks. The law also makes it illegal for stores to pour water over nearly-expired food, or store it inside locked warehouses until it is picked up by the garbage trucks. These measures are often undertaken by supermarkets to prevent the hungry from searching for food through the dustbins.Though that may appear cruel, the stores claim they do it to avoid potential food poisoning that could occur if the product is on its way past its expiry. Those who do not obey the new law face the risk of heavy fines. Also, excess goods like yogurt or milk that are likely to go bad quickly are now allowed to be donated directly to the food banks. Though this has always been possible, the current process is long and complex, making it difficult for producers to give away the food in a timely manner.France’s food banks are of course thrilled about the possibility of receiving extra food. Jacques Bailet, who heads a network of French food banks called the Banques Alimentaires, says that of the 110,000 tons of goods received annually, only 36,000 tons come from supermarkets. Bailet estimates(估计) that just a 15% increase in supermarket donations would translate to over 10 million additional meals to feed the hungry each year.Though this is a great first step, Arash Dermabarsh, the activist responsible for the grassroots movement that led to the ban, is not done. He now wants to extend the law to other places like restaurants and also try to convince other countries in the European Union to pass similar regulations. These steps are necessary because of the over 9 million tons of food wasted in France, an astonishing 67% is thrown away by consumers, with supermarkets and restaurants making up the rest.【解题导语】本文是一篇说明文。

【Ⅰ】阅读理解When the telephone rings late at night, most women guess it must be one of only four or five people calling. A sister?Maybe. An emergency? Possibly. A mother? Probably not at that time of night. Much more probably it is a close female friend calling to tell you that she is heartbroken because she has split up with her boyfriend again or perhaps simply that a good movie has just started on TV.At a time when families are spread far and wide and marriages often end in divorce, friendships are becoming more and more important. Erika, a 32-year-old lawyer, is strengthened by her ten-year friendship with her married friend Jane. “I was very sick one night, so I called Jane at about 3:00 am to talk about it,”she says. “She was very supportive and even came over to take me to the doctor's.”As American TV shows like Friends have become more popular, many of us are beginning to see the value of such friendships. TV shows like this tell us that our romantic relationships may not last, but we need to keep in touch with our close friends if we want to survive. This is true of Erika and Jane's friendship. With Erika's family 200 miles away, it is Jane who keeps a spare set of keys to Erik a's apartment and waters her plants whenever she is away. “Having Jane around gives me a certain amount of freedom. It is not the kind of thing that you could ask anyone to do, but she knows I would do the same for her.” Jane, who may move to a different c ity soon, is worried about leaving such a support system of friends. “My friends have more to do with my life than my parents and, therefore, I don't have to spend a lot of time explaining things to them. Friends are more up to date with what is happening.”1.According to the passage, a late-night phone call for most women is probably from ________.A.a friend B.a relativeC.a stranger D.a doctor2.TV shows like Friends tell us that ________.A.marriages with friends often end up in failureB.families and work are as important as friendsC.close friends help us face problems in lifeD.friendship fades as time goes by3.From the passage, we can learn that Erika and Jane ________.A.live far away from each otherB.have been friends for 32 yearsC.spend a lot of time explaining thingsD.trust and support each other in daily life4.Which of the statements will the author probably agree with?A.A near friend is more helpful than a faraway relative.B.Both marriage and friendship demand commitment.C.However far away we're, parents worry about us.D.Long distance makes the hearts closer.【Ⅱ】阅读七选五根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。

2020高考英语一轮复习构想Unit1Friendship课时作业新人教版必修1Unit 1 FriendshipⅠ.阅读理解A(2017·广州综合测试二)Mature-age university students are annoying, I know. I understand that when you're 18 or 19, and already know everything, there's no need to do the readings or show up prepared for class. I also understand that there are these old people in class who should be doing other things—maybe retiring, or gardening in the backyard. They are eagerly asking questions (or worse, answering them) and generally loud.I understand because I used to be one of them. I dropped out of high school in Year 11 and after playing guitar in a band for a few years, I spent the next ten years working different jobs. Then a friend, who thought I was wasting my life, suggested I enrol at his university. Although afraid, I eventually took a university preparation course and a year later became a 35-year-old university freshman.Like many mature-age students, after completing my degree, I continued studying and eventually attained my PhD.Now I'm a lecturer at Toronto University in Canada. In fact, I have just finished preparing a group of mature-age students to annoy next year's young first years. My students come from many different backgrounds. But they all share an enthusiasm for knowledge and learning.I know they are ridiculous and show up to class with folders full of readings, minds overflowing with ideas and concepts theywant to discuss. I was the same. But, contrary to the stereotype of the annoying mature-age students occupying the airtime in class, most don't want to control the discussion. They're likely to be waiting, counting away the seconds silently in the hope that someone will want to talk about all of these amazing ideas we're learning about. Only after waiting for younger voices to speak (but which often remain silent) do they begin talking.Speaking for myself, I love students who come prepared and ready to discuss stuff. So let's celebrate all of those “annoying” mature-age students.【文章大意】本文是一篇记叙文。

2020高考英语新探究大一轮复习练习:必修1 Module 5 课后达标检测(建议用时:35分钟)Ⅰ阅读理解(2019·湖南高三11月份六校联考)If I scratch your back and you scratch mine, then we’re both better off as a result—so goes the principle of reciprocity. As humans, we are familiar with the concept, whether it is by buying rounds of drinks or expelling diplomats. But do animals also help those who help them? The answer may be yes. A paper by Dolivo and Taborsky shows that Norway rats will only give as good as they get.In their laboratory, Dolivo and Taborsky first trained rats to pull a stick that provided a food item within the reach of a rat in a neighboring cage separated from them by wire mesh(铁丝网).They then introduced a further treatment in which an experimental rat was placed in a cage with other caged rats on either side. On one side the rat pulled a stick that provided pieces of carrot to the rat in the central cage, while the other pulled a stick that produced banana pieces. In the following trials the focal rat (the one in the central cage) had the opportunity to repay the other rats using the same stick tool to deliver food items. Now, the rats had typically turned their noses up at the carrot and showed a strong preference for the more desirable banana. On the basis that the banana-providing rat should be therefore remembered as the superior partner, the authors predicted that in the test phase(阶段) the focal rat would more readily provide help for banana-offering rats than for carrot -offering rats. This proved to be the case: the rats that had provided better help in the past received greater rewards—it seemed that they were behaving reciprocally.Dolivo and Taborsky’s experiments show that rats can recall the quality of help provided and by which rat, and adjust their behavior so as to invest more time and energy in helping those that helped them. It is apparent that we shouldn’t undervalue the ability of animals to engage in reciprocity.【解题导语】本文是一篇说明文。
