用法
(1)表示某一动作或状态在过去某一时间或 动作之前已经发生或完成,即发生在“过去的 过去”。这个过去的时间常与by, before等构成 的短语连用。
例:我睡醒时我的父母已经开始工作了。 My parents had begun to work by the time I woke up.
(2)过去完成时用在told, said, knew, heard, thought 等后面的宾语从句中。
