Los Angeles Coroner's Office
In Los Angeles, places associated with death are often popular. One such
popular place is the Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. When someone
dies and the cause of death is undetermined or suspicious, the body is brought
here for examination. It is the coroner's job to determine the time, cause, and
manner of death. Sometimes the coroner will have to perform an autopsy, which is
like an operation on a dead body to try to figure out how the person died. One of
the reasons the L.A. Coroner's Office is so popular is because of the number of
famous people who have been examined there. Some of those people include
Marilyn Monroe, Robert F. Kennedy, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston.
The Los Angeles Coroner's Office is so popular that there is even a gift
shop where visitors can buy items like shirts, caps, and mugs with the Coroner's

feeding itself on the green grass of the jungle.
The lion took a fancy on this animal that he had not seen before, "Let us go and
ask this extraordinary animal, where he comes from."
The crow, who flies to far-off places was aware and replied, "Master, it is called

Darwin was about to give his 1992 Buick Regal to his girlfriend's son, Gilroy.
But before doing that, Darwin had to make sure the car was safe. If anything was
wrong with the car and it caused Gilroy to be injured, Darwin would in turn be
injured—by Gilroy's mom!
Darwin made a list of things to do for Moe, his mechanic. Change the oil and
oil filter, which Moe recommended every 3,000 miles or six months, whichever
came first. Check the front and rear brakes. Adjust the brakes so that the brake
pedal didn't feel so mushy. Change the radiator coolant and transmission fluid.
Check all the belts. Check the spark plugs and ignition wires. Replace the PCV
valve. Repair the slow leak in the left front tire. Finally, the note said, call Darwin
if anything else needed fixing.
Darwin would check the air filter himself. That filter was easy to check and to

Hired Himself Out for Ten Cents
I KNOW a dear boy and have known him from the time he was a lovely babe
in the arms of his lady mother.
Many of our valued friends who were reared in most comfortable
circumstances, left all for the Gospel's sake, and in their homes here in Zion have
been far differently situated as to incomes and conveniences. It was the case with
this family.
There was a sweet little sister about three months old, the delight of the house. She
was often restless with pain, and this distressed my hero, who was about seven
years of age, and he was very anxious to know of something that would do her
good. A lady who was making a call said, " If the baby had some pepper-mint, it
would cure all that." The boy slipped quietly out of the room, and was seen no

On the way to the Sun
HE had journeyed a long way, and was very tired. It seemed like a dream when
he stood up after a sleep in the field, and looked over the wall, and saw the garden,
and the flowers, and the children playing all about. He looked at the long road
behind him, at the dark wood and the barren hills; it was the world to which he
belonged. He looked at the garden before him, at the big house, and the terrace, and
the steps that led down to the smooth lawn it was the world which belonged to the
children.
“Poor boy," said the elder child, "I will get you something to eat."
“But where did he come from? “the gardener asked.
"We do not know," the child answered; "but he is very hungry, and mother says
we may give him some food."
"I will take him some milk," said the little one; in one hand she carried a mug
