Our school's annual sports day is always the highlight of the year for me. I had been counting down the days for weeks, dreaming about winning medals and making my family proud. The big day finally arrived last Friday. I could barely sleep the night before from the anticipation and bounced out of bed at the crack of dawn. After gulping down a quick breakfast, Ihurried to get my sports uniform and sneakers on. My mom braided my hair tightly so it wouldn't get in my face during the races. When we arrived at school, the field was already a flurry of activity. Colorful banners and flags decorated the sidelines. Parents packed the bleachers, many of them carrying homemade signs to cheer on their kids. The air was filled with the delicious aroma of food from the concession stands. My heart was thumping with nervous energy as my class gathered by our team's tent. I spotted my best friends Emily and Michael and we exchanged high-fives. "This is our year!" Michael declared confidently. We had been practicing our running and relay handoffs for weeks.Soon it was time for the opening ceremony to begin. All the students lined up by class and grade behind our school's mascot, a fearsome tiger. The elite school band played a rousing march as we paraded out onto the field, waving to our families in the stands. After the national anthem, the principal gave a speech reminding us about good sportsmanship. Then it was time for the competitions to begin! The first event was the 100 meter dash for the kindergarten and 1st grade kids. It was adorable watching the little oneshustling down the track, some barely able to stay in their lanes. One tiny girl even stopped midway to pick a flower! Everyone cheered for them regardless.Next up were the 2nd grade races followed by my grade, the 3rd graders. I was shaking like a leaf at the starting line for the 200 meter dash. When the starting gun fired, I took off running as fast as my legs could pump. I could hear my parents and little brother screaming my name from the sidelines. Putting on a furious kick at the end, I managed to surge ahead and win my heat! I had earned my first gold medal of the day.The morning flew by in a blur after that. We moved on to events like the long jump, high jump, and relay races. I wasn't as successful in those, earning a bronze and two 4th place ribbons. But I didn't care - the thrill of competition was incredible. I was having the time of my life. There was a break for a picnic lunch around noon. My family had packed a smorgasbord of my favorite foods - fried chicken, grape jelly sandwiches, apples, and enough snacks and drinks to fuel an army. Sitting on the grass, I recapped my performance so far with Mom and Dad. They assured me they were already super proud no matter what happened the rest of the day.The afternoon events started heating up, quite literally, as the late spring sun beat down on us. Thank goodness for the sports drink stations! I competed hard but couldn't quite match my 200 meter dash performance, settling for a couple more bronze medals. My strongest event was still to come though. Finally it was time for the tug-of-war contest, one of the most anticipated parts of the whole day. These were always epic battles of strength, strategy and determination. Our grade took on the formidable 4th graders first. Digging our heels into the dirt, we managed to pull them all the way over the line after an intense five minute tug-of-war! We had dethroned the reigning champions in dramatic fashion. The celebration was short-lived though, as we had to turn around and face the entire 5th grade class immediately after. Those kids were an absolute wagon load, all towering over us. We fought valiantly, but it was no use - they overpowered us without breaking much of a sweat. Oh well, we had given our best.As the sun began to set over the track, just a handful of events remained. I was running on fumes at that point, drenched in sweat and hardly able to keep my eyes open. But I found one last burst of energy to compete in the final silly relay race -having to hop, spin, and crawl around the track while passing a rubber chicken back and forth. It was a riot! Everyone was laughing hysterically as we put on that clown show. When it was finally over, I collapsed into my dad's arms, completely spent. He scooped me up and carried me, still wearing my grass-stained uniform and face smeared with sweat and dirt. As we headed to the car, I gazed back at the field with a tired but satisfied smile. Sports day had exceeded all my expectations and then some. I got to compete, be a proud member of my class team, and make memories that would last forever. I couldn't wait to do it all again next year!。

He thus lost both: that which he grasped at in the water, because it was a shadow; and his own, because the stream swept it away.

1Pretty LadyOne day, I was walking home from school with my friend Tommy. We were talking about our favorite video games and which super heroes are the coolest. Suddenly, a pretty lady walked by us on the sidewalk. She had long blonde hair that was shiny like gold. Her hair was braided in two pigtails that bounced up and down when she walked. The pretty lady was wearing a bright pink dress with flowers printed all over it. On her feet were sparkly silver shoes that looked like they were made of diamonds!"Wow, did you see that pretty lady?" Tommy said, his eyes getting really big. "She's so pretty, like a princess!"I nodded my head. "Yeah, she is really pretty. Maybe she's going to a fancy party or a wedding!"We watched as the pretty lady continued down the sidewalk, her dress swishing back and forth. Her shoes made little clicking sounds on the pavement."Where do you think she's going?" Tommy wondered out loud. "Maybe she's a movie star going to a red carpet premiere!""Or a model going to a fashion show!" I added excitedly.Tommy and I decided to follow the pretty lady to see where she was headed. We stayed a few feet behind her, trying to be sneaky detectives. We didn't want her to know we were following her. The pretty lady turned a corner and headed down another street lined with houses and trees. After a couple blocks, the lady stopped in front of a yellow house. She opened her little purse and took out a set of keys. As she unlocked the front door, Tommy and I hid behind some bushes so she wouldn't spot us."She must live in that house!" I whispered to Tommy. "I wonder why she's all dressed up like that?"The pretty lady disappeared inside the yellow house, closing the door behind her. Tommy and I waited a few minutes to see if she would come back out. But she never did."I guess we'll never know why she looked so fancy," Tommy said with a disappointed sigh. "We should probably get going before our parents start wondering where we are."As we headed back towards our neighborhood, I thought about the pretty lady some more."You know, maybe she just likes wearing pretty dresses and looking nice, even if she's not going anywhere special," I told Tommy. "My mom wears makeup and dresses up sometimes just because it makes her feel good."Tommy considered that for a moment. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Ladies can look pretty whenever they want, not just for parties or going out."We didn't solve the mystery of the pretty lady that day. But I decided it didn't really matter why she looked so nice. Some people just enjoy looking and feeling their best, even if they're just staying home. And there's nothing wrong with that! The world is a little bit brighter when we make an effort to look our prettiest. As we reached our neighborhood, I spotted my mom waiting for me on our front porch."Hi sweetie!" she called out with a wave. "Did you have a good day at school?""Yeah, it was great!" I replied. "Guess what, Mom? I saw the prettiest lady on our walk home..."篇2BeautyHi! My name is Emma and I'm going to tell you all about beauty. Beauty is a really really big word that means lots of different things to different people. To me, beauty is about seeing the pretty things in the world and in people. One of the most beautiful things in the world is nature. The colorful flowers blooming in gardens are so beautiful. Roses are my favorite with their bright red petals and sweet smells. But I also love sunflowers because they are so tall and happy looking with their big yellow faces. Trees are beautiful too, especially in the fall when the leaves turn pretty orange, red and yellow colors.Animals are another beautiful part of nature. I think puppies and kittens are sooo cute and beautiful with their fuzzy fur and floppy ears. Horses are elegant and beautiful animals too, especially when they are running through a field. Even bugs can be beautiful if you look closely, like butterflies with their bright painted wings. The world we live in has so many other beautiful sights as well. A sunny day with a bright blue sky and puffy white clouds is beautiful. A colorful rainbow after a rainstorm is breathtaking. The twinkling stars at night are like nature's Christmas lights. Even cities can have beauty, like tall buildings that sparkle and shine.People can be beautiful too, both on the outside and the inside. When someone is smiling big and laughing, you can see the beauty in their happiness. People who are kind, caring and helpful to others show an inner beauty in their good hearts. My mom is the most beautiful person I know because she always takes great care of me and our family. There is also beauty in art, music, books and movies that people create. A painting with many colors and shapes can be a beautiful work of art. Listening to pretty melodies and rhythms in music is very beautiful. Getting lost in a good book with an imaginative story is beautiful. Even watching movies with exciting adventures and characters can have beauty.Making things with your own hands is another way to create beauty. It feels so good to make something myself, like drawing a picture, molding clay into a sculpture or building something with blocks. I made a beautiful Mother's Day card for my mom with hearts, flowers and the words "I Love You" written inside. Just the process of making it was beautiful.Beauty doesn't always have to be a physical thing either. Having good values like being honest, respectful and hardworking is beautiful in its own way. Being brave when you are scared is a beautiful quality too. Even though I'm just a kid, I try my best to have a beautiful character on the inside. In the end, beauty is all around us if we just take the time to notice and appreciate it. It's in the great outdoors, the art we experience, the hands-on creating we do and the goodness within people. Beauty makes me happy and puts a big smile on my face. I hope this essay could help you see and value the many beautiful things in our world!篇3Beautiful GirlHi! My name is Emma and I'm going to tell you all about my friend Lily. Lily is the most beautiful girl in our whole third grade class. I think she's even the prettiest girl in the entire school!Lily has gorgeous long blonde hair that shines like gold in the sunlight. It flows down her back in perfect bouncy curls. Her eyes are the most amazing shade of sparkling blue, like the ocean on a sunny day. Lily has the cutest button nose and rosy red cheeks. And her smile could light up a whole room! When she smiles, her teeth are so white and straight. Lily always wears pretty dresses with fun patterns like polka dots or flowers. Her favorite colors are pink and purple. Not only is Lily beautiful on the outside, but she's an even more beautiful person on the inside. She is so incredibly nice and kind to everyone. Lily never teases or makes fun of anyone. If someone is feeling sad, she always cheers them up with her warm smile and friendly words. Lily shares her snacks and treats at lunchtime. She's really good at including everyone when we play games at recess so nobody feels left out. Lily works hard in class too and helps others when they don't understand something.I really look up to Lily because she treats people with so much respect, even if they look or act differently than her. Once, there was a new student who didn't speak much English. While some kids laughed at him, Lily went out of her way to make him feel welcome. She learned some words in his language and played with him at recess until he made new friends. Lily is living proof that beauty isn't just about how you look, it's about how you behave too.My best friend Lily is the whole package - she's pretty and sweet and smart and caring. She makes the world a little bit brighter everywhere she goes. I feel so lucky to have such an amazing friend! Whenever I'm around Lily, she inspires me to be kinder, work harder, and see the beauty in everything and everyone around me. I want to grow up to be just like her - a truly beautiful girl inside and out.I hope you can meet a wonderful friend like Lily someday too. Just being around someone so positive and lovely makes life so much happier and fun. If we all try to be a little bit more like Lily and spread more kindness, this world would be filled with beautiful people everywhere we look. Looks aren't everything, but having a good heart sure makes you glow! Lily taught me that lesson and I'll never forget it.篇4BeautyMy name is Emma and I am 8 years old. Today my teacher Miss Roberts asked us to write about beauty for our English class.I will try my best!I think beauty is a very pretty word. It makes me think of things that are nice to look at, like flowers, butterflies, and my mom when she gets dressed up fancy. Beautiful things make me feel happy inside my heart. One of the most beautiful things I can think of is nature. Like when you go outside on a sunny spring day and all the trees have their new green leaves and little flowers are popping up everywhere. Or a field full of tall yellow dandelions waving in the breeze. I love the colors of nature - the bright blues and pinks and purples. My favorite is when the sky turns orange and pink at sunset. It's so pretty!Animals can be very beautiful too. Like my dog Daisy with her soft golden fur and floppy ears. Or a graceful deer leaping through the forest. I think birds are extra beautiful, especially hummingbirds with their iridescent green feathers that shimmer in the sunlight. And butterflies! Who doesn't love butterflies with their big colorful wings?I also find people to be beautiful, inside and out. My grandma has wrinkly skin and gray hair but her smile makes her most beautiful to me. She is always so kind and gives the best hugs. I think having a good heart makes someone beautiful on the inside. My best friend Emily is beautiful on the outside too though - she has the cutest freckles and braided pigtails.Art and music can be beautiful as well. Like a pretty painting of a vase with sunflowers, or a graceful sculpture of an angel. And songs with lovely melodies and meaningful lyrics, those are totally beautiful. My mom has a beautiful singing voice when she sings along to the radio.Of course, there are also man-made things that can be considered beautiful. Like a sparkling diamond ring or necklace all shiny and brilliant. The fanciest houses and buildings are often very beautiful with their bright colors, big windows, and cool architecture with arches and pillars and stuff. I think the most beautiful man-made things are the towering skyscrapers in big cities - they look so sleek and modern! But in my opinion, the most beautiful thing in the whole world is love. The kind of love my parents have for me and each other. It makes me feel so warm and safe and cared for. They give the best cuddles and make me feel so special and important.Their love is patient and gentle and unconditional. To me, that is the true meaning of beauty.Well, I think that's all I have to say about beauty for now. Let me know if you need me to keep going! Beauty is such a great topic and there's so much more I could write. But my hand is getting a little tired from all this writing. I hope you liked my essay, Miss Roberts! I'll do an even better job next time.篇5Beautiful GirlHi, I'm going to tell you about my friend Jessica. She is the most beautifulest girl I know! Jessica is 9 years old like me and we are in the same class at school.First, let me tell you what Jessica looks like. She has long blonde hair that goes past her shoulders. Her hair is so pretty and shiny! Jessica's eyes are a bright blue color, like the sky on a sunny day. Her skin is really pale and soft looking. She has a cute little nose and rosy red cheeks. Jessica is a little bit taller than me but not too much. She's kind of skinny but not too skinny. I think she's the perfect size!Jessica is really good at art class. She can draw really pretty pictures of flowers and animals and people too. Her coloring is always nice and neat inside the lines. Sometimes I get a little sloppy when I color. Jessica is also a great reader. She reads big chapter books that are probably too hard for me. In math class she's really smart too and always gets the answers right. At recess, Jessica is lots of fun to play with. We play jump rope and hopscotch and tag sometimes. She's really fast so I can never catch her when we play tag! Jessica is a good friend and never fights or argues with anyone. She's nice to everybody, even the mean kids. I try to be nice like her but sometimes I get grumpy.Jessica wears the cutest outfits to school. She has lots of dresses with pretty flowers and polka dots and stripes. Her shirts and pants are always super colorful and bright. Jessica wears bows in her hair a lot too, like pink or purple or blue bows. I wish I could dress as cute as her! She picks out her clothes all by herself which I think is really cool. My mom still picks my outfits most days. For her birthday last month, Jessica had a big sleepover party and I got to go! We played truth or dare and talked about which boys we thought were cutest. We stayed up way past ourbedtimes watching movies and painting our nails. Jessica got lots of cool presents like a new art set, some Barbies, and books to read. Her cake was bright pink with sprinkles and Disney princesses on it which I thought was pretty!Even though Jessica is so beautiful and talented, she's still a really good friend to me which is why I like her so much. She never acts stuck-up or thinks she's better than me. Jessica shares her snacks and toys at school. She stands up for me if anyone is mean or teasing me. Jessica gives great advice when I'm having problems or feeling sad about something too. We have a lot of fun together!I hope you can see why Jessica is such a beautiful girl, inside and out! With her pretty looks, her smarts, her talents, and her kindness, it's easy to understand why she is so beautifulest! Jessica is going to grow up to be an even more gorgeous young lady someday. Maybe she'll even be a model or an actress or Miss America or something! I'm really lucky to have such an amazing best friend. The end!篇6BeautyBeauty is a word that grown-ups use a lot but I'm not always sure what it means. My mom says beauty is on the inside, but then she also spends a lot of time putting on makeup and picking out nice clothes. My dad says beauty is in the eye of the beholder, whatever that means. I just know what I think is beautiful! To me, beautiful things are things that make me happy when I look at them. Like flowers! Flowers are so beautiful. I love all the pretty colors and how delicate the petals look. My favorite flowers are roses because they smell so nice. But I also love sunflowers because they are so bright and cheerful looking. Tulips are beautiful too with their cute shapes. Basically, any flower makes me smile.Butterflies are another thing I think are super beautiful. They are like little flying artwork with their giant colorful wings. Sometimes I see them fluttering around our backyard and I try to sneak up and get a closer look. Once I even caught one for a second before it flew away! I just love how graceful and peaceful they look lazily drifting through the air.Speaking of peaceful, sunsets are definitely one of the most beautiful sights ever. The way the sky lights up in bright oranges, pinks, and purples is just breathtaking. My best friend Julia and Isometimes sit outside on her porch in the evenings just watching the sunset. We'll make up stories about what the different cloud shapes look like as the colors change. Sunrises are pretty too, but not as pretty as sunsets in my opinion.Things in nature are clearly very beautiful, but I also appreciate man-made beauty. Like pieces of art or architecture can be really stunning too. I went to an art museum once and saw these huge paintings that looked almost too real to be paintings! And some of the old buildings and churches we've seen on vacation had such intricate and impressive designs. Beauty really is everywhere if you know where to look.I try to bring more beauty into my own life too. I love decorating my room to make it look nice and cheerful. I have a big multicolored rug, flower curtains, and tons of stuffed animals artfully arranged on my bed. Colorful sketches and drawings that I've made cover my walls too. It makes me happy having my own personal beautiful space to relax and play in.School assignments can also allow for creativity and beauty. Like when we have to write stories or poems in class, I always try to use really descriptive words to paint a vivid picture. My teacher says I have a talent for that! Or if we get art projects, I go above and beyond decorating and embellishing to makesomething beautiful. Just last week we made Mother's Day cards and I used glitter, stickers, ribbons, and my finest handwriting to make the most dazzling card I could.Clothes and fashion can express beauty too. I don't just mean fancy dresses or anything, but putting together an outfit I think looks cool and flattering on me. Maybe a floral skirt with a solid colored shirt, some funky socks and my light-up sneakers. Or a trendy graphic tee with ripped jeans and a baseball cap. As long as I feel confident and like myself, that's beautiful in my book!Beauty really is everywhere and in everything if you have an eye for it. Pretty much anything that brings joy, happiness, and wonder counts as beautiful to me. Whether it's a natural landscape, a piece of art, a kind soul, or a job well done, beauty makes the world a brighter and more interesting place. I feel really lucky that there is so much beauty all around me every day if I just take a moment to stop and appreciate it. Life is just more fun and full of adventure when you can find and create beauty in it!。

我忙碌的五月英语小作文五句话三年级

我忙碌的五月英语小作文五句话三年级全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1A Busy MayAh, the merry month of May! It's a time when the world comes alive with vibrant colors and sweet fragrances. The trees are donning their lush green attire, and the flowers are putting on a dazzling show, painting the landscape with their radiant hues. As a third-grader, this month holds a special place in my heart, for it is a whirlwind of excitement and activities that leave me breathless yet utterly fulfilled. The first week of May kicked off with a bang as we prepared for our school's annual Spring Fair. Our class had been hard at work for weeks, meticulously crafting colorful arts and crafts to sell at our booth. From vibrant paintings to intricate friendship bracelets, we poured our hearts and souls into every creation. The anticipation was palpable as we eagerly awaited the big day, dreaming of the delicious treats and thrilling games that awaited us.When the fair finally arrived, the school grounds were transformed into a whimsical wonderland. The air was thick with the tantalizing aromas of freshly popped popcorn and sizzling hot dogs. Lively music filled the atmosphere, and the sound of laughter echoed through the corridors. Our booth was a bustling hub of activity, with families flocking to admire and purchase our handmade treasures. The sense of pride and accomplishment we felt was truly indescribable. But the fun didn't stop there! May is also the month when our school hosts the much-anticipated Field Day. It's a day dedicated to friendly competition, teamwork, and goodold-fashioned fun. We eagerly donned our class colors, our hearts pounding with excitement as we assembled on the vast expanse of the school field. The events were a whirlwind of adrenaline-pumping activities, from the classic sack race to the chaotic tug-of-war battles. Our lungs burned as we sprinted across the finish line, our faces flushed with exhilaration. Even though we were competitors, the camaraderie and sportsmanship were palpable, as we cheered on our classmates and reveled in each other's triumphs. As if that wasn't enough, May also brought with it the highly anticipated Mother's Day celebration. We spent countless hours in art class, meticulously crafting heartfelt cards and homemade gifts for our beloved moms. The joy on their faces as they unwrapped our offerings was truly a sight to behold, filling our hearts with warmth and love. But amidst all the excitement, May also presented its fair share of academic challenges. With the end of the school year rapidly approaching, our teachers ramped up their efforts, ensuring that we were well-prepared for the next grade level. We tackled new concepts in math and science, our little brains working overtime to grasp the intricacies of fractions and the fascinating world of plant life.Despite the occasional frustrations and mental fatigue, we persevered, fueled by our thirst for knowledge and the unwavering support of our dedicated teachers. They patiently guided us through each lesson, celebrating our successes and encouraging us to keep pushing forward. As the month drew to a close, I found myself reflecting on the whirlwind of experiences that had unfolded. My heart was filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. May hadtruly been a tapestry woven with vibrant threads of joy, learning, and growth.Looking back, I realize that these moments, these cherished memories, are what make childhood so magical. They are the building blocks that shape our character, instilling in us valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of embracing every opportunity life presents. So, as I bid farewell to the merry month of May, I do so with a heart overflowing with gratitude and a mind brimming with precious recollections. These experiences will forever be etched in my memory, serving as a reminder of the wonders that await when we embrace life with open arms and an insatiable thirst for adventure.篇2My Busy MayMay is such a busy month for me! School is almost over but there is still so much to do.First, we have to take all of our big end-of-year tests. The reading test, the math test, and even a science test this year. I have been studying really hard to get ready. My mom has beenhelping me practice with flash cards and worksheets at home. I want to do my best on the tests! There are also a lot of fun activities happening at school in May. We have our annual field day with races and games out on the playground. My favorite is the tug-of-war! Our class is also putting on a little play for our parents. I got the part of the sun so I have to make a big yellow sun costume and learn my lines. On top of all the school stuff, my little sister's birthday is in May too. We're having a big party for her at our house. I'm helping Mom make decorations and bake her birthday cake. It's going to be chocolate this year! With tests, activities, plays, and parties, May is definitely the busiest month of the whole year for me. But I love getting to do so many fun things before summer break!篇3My Busy MayWow, May was such a busy month for me! It felt like I was running around from one activity to the next without any breaks. Let me tell you all about the craziness that was my May.The month started off with my little sister Emma's 6th birthday party. Mom and Dad let us have a big celebration at our house with a bounce house, face painting, and even a magician! I got to invite all my best friends from school and we had a blast. Emma loved having everyone over to celebrate her special day. When it was time to open presents, she got so many cool toys and games. I was a little jealous, if I'm being honest! We kids played hard all day until we were completely tuckered out.Just a few days after Emma's party, it was time for my school's annual Field Day. I get so excited for Field Day every year! We got to go outside and compete in all kinds of fun races and games like the three-legged race, tug-of-war, and the infamous egg toss. My friend David and I made it all the way to the finals in the egg toss before his egg smashed all over the ground. We were so close to winning! Even though we didn't get first place, we still had an awesome time. With Field Day over, I thought I could relax for a little bit. But nope, not a chance! Thetre next big event was my cousin Sarah's First Communion. The whole family got dressed up and went to the big church downtown for the Mass. Sarah looked so grown up in her beautiful white dress. After the service, we all went back to my aunt and uncle's house for a huge party with enough foodto feed a small army! I snuck a few too many cookies from the dessert table and ended up with a bellyache. It was worth it though - those cookies were delicious!Just when I thought the month couldn't get any busier, it was time for my basketball team's end-of-season tournament. We practiced really hard all season and were determined to win the whole thing. The tournament was held at the huge rec center across town and teams from all over came to play. Our first few games were pretty easy, but then we faced this team from Centerville that was crazy good. It was the championship game and went back and forth the whole time. With just a few seconds left, our star player Jackson banked in the game-winning shot! We all went crazy celebrating - we were champions! Winning that big trophy was the perfect way to end the season. Finally, after that hoops tournament, May was drawing to a close. I don't think I've ever been so busy! Between the birthday party, Field Day, First Communion, and basketball, I felt like I was constantly on the go without a break. While it was a lot of running around, I had so much fun making memories with my family and friends. Maybe June will be a little calmer...but I kind of hope not! I loved every busy minute of my amazing May.篇4My Super Busy MayMay is always the busiest month of the year for me! There are so many fun activities and events happening. I can barely keep up with everything going on. Let me tell you all about my busy May this year. The first big event in May was my little sister's 5th birthday party. My mom went all out decorating the house with balloons, streamers, and a huge "Happy 5th Birthday!" sign. We had a Frozen-themed party since that's my sister's favorite movie. She got to wear her Elsa dress and we sang along to the soundtrack. Over 20 of her friends from school came and they playedpin-the-carrot-nose-on-Olaf and frosted cupcakes to look like Olaf. There was even a real ice sculptor who carved an ice sculpture of Olaf! We all thought it was the coolest thing ever. By the end of the party, there was wrapping paper, crumbs, and melted ice cream all over but my sister had a huge smile on her face. Party success! The very next weekend was my hometown's annual strawberry festival. My family always goes because they have the most delicious strawberry treats - strawberry shortcake, strawberry smoothies, chocolate covered strawberries, you name it! This year I entered the kid's strawberry pie eating contest. Itrained for weeks, practicing stuffing my face with whipped cream and pie crust at home. When the contest started, I thought I had it in the bag. But this new kid Timmy from my class was an animal! He inhaled three whole pies before I could even finish one. I ended up coming in third place with a awful stomach ache, but it was still fun. At least I got to enjoy plenty of other strawberry goodies while walking around the festival.About halfway through May, it was time for my school's annual field day! This is the day I look forward to all year. We got to go outside and participate in relay races, tug-of-war, sack races, and all sorts of other games and competitions. My absolute favorite is the water balloon toss. My best friend Abby and I have been partners for it the past two years and we're undefeated champs! This year we made it all the way to the finale against the 5th grade teachers before Mrs. Walker's monster throw knocked us out. We still got a blue ribbon though! After all the events, we had a picnic lunch of hot dogs, fruit, and freezie pops. I was exhausted by the end of the day but couldn't wait for next year's field day. With only a couple weeks left in May, we had our spring concert at school. I was assigned to play the xylophone in our rendition of "Old McDonald Had a Farm." I practiced my partover and over, playing "E-I-E-I-O" until my parents couldn't stand hearing it anymore. The night of the concert, I got major butterflies in my stomach waiting backstage to go on. When it was our turn, I marched out proudly carrying my xylophone and played my heart out, not missing a single note. After we finished to thunderous applause from the audience, I had the biggest smile. All that practice had paid off! Finally, on the last day of May, my family went on our annual Memorial Day camping trip. We loaded up the car with tents, sleeping bags, a cooler of food, and headed to the state park a few hours away. Once we got our campsite all set up, we spent the weekend hiking, fishing, roasting marshmallows over the campfire, and best of all - no screens or technology allowed! It's a nice break from video games and YouTube. We watched the sunset, looked at the millions of stars, and listened to the crackling fire. When it was time to leave, I was exhausted but didn't want to go home. Until next year!Phew, that was one crazy busy May between birthdays, festivals, field days, concerts, and camping trips! I don't know how I survived it all. Good thing June is here and I can just relax andwatch my friends have busy schedules instead. Bring on summer! My Busy MayMay has been such a busy month for me! School is almost over, but we still have lots of work to do.First, we had our big math test last week. I studied really hard by doing lots of practice problems every night. Math is not my favorite subject, but I tried my best. After the test, I felt relieved it was finally over. This week, we are working on our science fair projects. I am doing an experiment to see which soap bubbles last the longest. It's been fun blowing bubbles and timing how long they float. I can't wait to present my project to the class on Friday!Next week, we have our annual Field Day at school. There will be races, tug-of-war, and other fun outdoor activities. My favorite is the water balloon toss! I hope my team wins this year. We've been practicing our throwing and catching skills. Finally, May ends with my little brother's birthday party. He's turning 6 years old! We're having the party at a pizza place with an arcade. I can't wait to win tickets and get some prizes from the candy store. What an exciting May it's been!May is always a super busy month for me, and this year was no exception! There were so many exciting things happening, and I felt like I was running around like a little bunny from one activity to the next.First up was the big science fair at my school. I worked really hard on my project about volcanoes. I made a model volcano out of papier-mâché and did tons of research on different types of volcanic eruptions. On the day of the fair, I got to present my project to the judges and answer their questions. It was a little bit scary, but also really cool! I didn't win a prize, but I was still proud of all the hard work I put into it.The very next week, my soccer team had our end-of-season tournament. We had been practicing every week for months, and it was finally time to show off our skills! The tournament was held at the big sports complex across town, and there were teams from all over the state. I played defense, and I was running up and down the field like crazy. We made it all the way to the semifinals before getting knocked out, but we still got cool medals for trying our best.Right after the soccer tournament, it was time for my cousin's wedding! My aunt got married in a beautiful garden ceremony. I was the ring bearer, which meant I got to carry the rings down the aisle on a little velvet pillow. I was so nervous about dropping them, but I made it without any problems. The wedding was lovely, and the reception afterwards was a blast. I danced my heart out to all the fun music and ate way too much cake. Finally, to top off this crazy month, my family went on a camping trip for Memorial Day weekend. We drove up to the mountains and spent three nights in our big tent, roasting marshmallows over the campfire and hiking through the woods. I saw a real-life bear from a safe distance, which was equal parts terrifying and amazing! We played games, told stories, and just enjoyed being together in the great outdoors.By the time May was over, I was completely tuckered out from all the excitement and activity. Still, I wouldn't have had it any other way – this was definitely one of the most fun and memorable months ever! I can't wait to see what adventures June has in store.。
