The Setup Wizard automatically starts when the switch configuration file is empty. Y ou can exit the wizard at any point by entering [ctrl+z], but all configuration settings specified will be discarded (the switch will use the default values). For more information on CLI initial configuration see the User Guide . This Getting Started Guide shows how to use the Setup Wizard for initial switch configuration. The wizard sets up the following configuration on the switch:•Establishes the initial privileged user account with a valid password. The wizard configures one privileged user account during the setup. •Enables CLI login and HTTP access to use the local authentication setting only.•Sets up the IP address for the management VLAN.•Sets up the SNMP community string to be used by the SNMP manager at a given IP address. Y ou may choose to skip this step if SNMP management is not used for this switch. •Allows you to specify the management server IP or permit management access from all IP addresses.•Configures the default gateway IP address.Example Session This section describes an Easy Setup Wizard session. The following values are used by the example session:•The SNMP community string to be used is DellNetworkManager .•The network management system IP address is 192.168.2.1.•The user name is admin , and password is admin123.•The IP address for the management VLAN is 192.168.2.1:255.255.255.0.•The default gateway is 0.0.0.0.The setup wizard configures the initial values as defined above. After you complete the wizard, the switch is configured as follows:•SNMPv1/2c is enabled and the community string is set up as defined above. SNMPv3 is disabled by default.•The admin user account is set up as defined.• A network management system is configured. From this management station, you can access the SNMP, HTTP, and CLI interfaces. Y ou may also choose to allow all IP addresses to access these management interfaces by choosing the (0.0.0.0) IP address.•An IP address is configured for the default management VLAN (1).• A default gateway address is configured.NOTE: In the example below, the possible user options are enclosed in [ ]. Also, where possible, the default value is provided in { }. [Y/N] nStep 6:If the information is correct, please select (Y) to save the configuration, and copy to the start-up configuration file. If the information is incorrect, select (N) to discard configuration and restart the wizard: [Y/N] yThank you for using Dell Easy Set up Wizard. You will now enter CLI mode.Managing a StackMaster and Member SwitchesA stack of switches can be managed as a single entity when connected together. The stack can be managed from a web-based interface, an SNMP management station, or a CLI. When a stack is created, one switch automatically becomes the master switch. Y ou can manually allocate an IP address to the master switch using the console, or let DHCP do so automatically. Afterwards, you can manage the entire stack through the IP address of the Master Switch. The Master Switch detects and reconfigures the ports with minimal operational impact in the event of:•Switch failure•Inter-switch stacking link failure•Switch insertion•Switch removalIf the Master Switch goes off line, any of the Member Switches in the stack can replace it.The system will elect a new Master Switch and reconfigure the System Configuration for the stack. Stack StartupTopology DiscoveryWhen a stack is formed, a topology discovery process builds up a database that contains information about all of the switches in the stack, including the Firmware Version, Hardware Version, Management Preference, Switch MAC Address, and Switch Serial Number. Y ou can use the command line interface (CLI) or the Web interface to view this information.NOTE: See the CLI Reference Manual and the User’s Guide for assistance with the CLI and Webinterface, respectively.www.dell.com|support.dell.comAuto Stack ID Assignment During the stack formation process, every switch is assigned a Stack ID. Once Stack ID assignment is complete, each switch saves its Stack ID into the nonvolatile FLASH memory. Y ou can use the CLI or the Web interface to view the stack IDs. Firmware Version Checking Following Stack ID assignment, the Master Switch performs a consistency check to make sure that all switches in the stack are running the same firmware version. If the switch software versions do not match, then the ports on the member switch will not become valid for operation. This condition is known as the Suspended Stacking Mode. Y ou can then synchronize the firmware on the member switch with the firmware that is running on the Master Switch. System Initialization If the Master Switch determines during the firmware version consistency check that all switches are running the same version of firmware, the switch will be initialized for Stacking Mode.System Initialization for Normal Stacking Mode The Master Switch will initialize the stack using the last saved system configuration file. For those switches that do not have a configuration file, the system will apply default settings to those switches. If the configuration file is corrupted, the Master Switch will initialize the stack and set it to the Factory Default Configuration.Y ou can save the configuration file. The Master Switch automatically distributes the configuration file to the member switches. If the Master Switch later becomes unavailable, a Member Switch becomes the new Master Switch and configures the stack with the latest configuration synchronized from the Master Switch.System Initialization for Suspended Stacking Mode After system initialization is complete, the Master Switch will enter Suspended Stacking Mode if the firmware versions of the stack are inconsistent. In this mode, only the Master Switch is initialized with configuration file information. None of the member switches are initialized. This forces all member switches to remain in non-operational mode.NOTE: All ports disabled by default.CLI/ Telnet/ Web InterfaceY ou can use the CLI / WEB / SNMP to synchronize the firmware that is stored in the Master Switch to a member switch.Insertion and Removal of SwitchesY ou can insert and remove switches to/from the current stack without cycling the power. The entire network may be affected when a topology change occurs, as a stack reconfiguration will take place.A new Master Switch will not be re-elected, unless the Master Switch was removed from the stack. Stack reconfiguration takes a maximum of two minutes in a stack of twelve switches, less time for smaller stacks.Operating as Standalone SwitchIf a switch cannot detect a stacking partner on a port enabled for stacking, the switch will operate as a standalone switch. If a stacking partner is detected, the switch will always operate in stacking mode.Stack ID RenumberingY ou can manually assign Stack IDs to a switch. A switch can only be assigned a Stack ID that has not already been assigned to another switch in the stack. Any configuration information that was saved for the new Stack ID is applied to the switch that is taking that Stack ID.User ControlsUse the following CLI commands to control this feature. The top gauge - or speedometer - is for the rate of electricity and the bottom gauge is for gas.To make it even easier to understand the hourly rates of consumption, the top and bottom sets of numbers can show the rate of consumption in cost (£/€) and energy or power (kW).For example, if the display says £0.15 for the rate of electricity consumption, then this means that if the rate stayed the same it would cost 15p for the next hour. The electricity speedometer is updated every few seconds and the gas speedometer every 30 minutes.less is moreThe lower the hourly rate of consumption, the less it will cost and the more you can save.It is typical of a medium sized house to use around 250Wh or 4p per hour of electricity - so see how low you can get the speedometer. If, when you have your lights off, your house is using more than this rate, have a look around the home and see if any appliances can be turned off. The gas speedometer should drop to zero when your boiler and cooker are not in use.10What is normal?Don’t worry if every now and again the speedometers are high - this can beperfectly normal. The image below shows where the electricity speedometer will typically be when using certain appliances. How can I use less?Look for appliances around the home that are not always being used and can be switched off.Often it’s items such as a gamesconsole, sound system or even a clock radio in the spare room. Experiment with switching appliances off and see what affect that has on your daily usage.Other ways to save include having less water in the kettle (only boilwhat you intend to use), lowering the temperature on the washing machine or raising the temperature of the freezer (-18O C is cold enough).Duet II| User manual PREPAYMENTPrepay viewIf you are on a prepayment plan with your utility, then your Duet II will automatically show your remaining credit on the Home View.If you have both electricity and gas prepayment plans, then the Home View will alternate with the credit remaining for each fuel. You will also see the Pre-pay option in the main menu. This allows you add credit and view any outstanding debt.Prepayment Adding creditTo add credit to your electricity or gas prepay smart meter, you will need to have a unique code from your utility or approved payment partner. The code, also known as a ‘vend code’, is 20 numbers long and can only be used once. It contains details about your account, smart meter and the amount of credit you have purchased. To enter the new vend code, do the following:• Press the menu button and select the Pre-pay• select either Electricity or Gas, depending on what youhave purchased• select Add Vend Code• Using the left and right buttons, enter each of the 20 digits, pressing next/del to move tothe next digit• A long press of next/del will go back one digit Once all 20 digits have been entered, your display will send the code to the smart meter for verification. It can take up to thirty minutes for the code to be applied and you will receive a notification on your Duet II to let you know the credit has been applied. If the vend code was entered incorrectly, please try again.Press back to return to the prepayment menu. For other prepayment features, please see ‘electricity & gas prepay’ on page 14.Duet II| User manual MENU OPTIONSmain menuFrom the Home view, press the middle menu button.Using the left and right buttons, navigate through the menu options. If you have different tariffs during the day, then the next tariff is also shown. If there is a standing charge (either each day or month), then this is shown. All prices are inclusive of VAT.Tariff now and nextTo see what tariff you are on now and when the next tariff change will be, the upper screen has two sets of three tariff indicators. One i icon means the least expensive electricity tariff and iii means the most expensive. The icons will flashto indicate a rate change is due within the next 30 minutes. As an example, if you have three electricity icons showing (iii) and the left-most icon is flashing - this means that within the next 30 minutes your electricity tariff will move from the most expensive to the least expensive rate. The same principles apply with the j icons for gas tariffs.Press back to return to the main menu.menu optionssettingsThe Settings menu allows you to customise your Duet II to your personal preferences.Within each setting, press the + and - buttons to change the setting and then set to store the new setting.BacklightThe backlight of the upper and lower screens can be configured to be active at certain times of the day.By default, the display will be off between 22:00 and 06:00. Don’t worry, important alerts from you Smart Meter will still appear. Usage levelThe dials in the upper display can be scaled to suit your size of house and expected usage. For example, if you live in a five-bedroom house and have four people living there all the time, then you should select High as the user type so that the dials can show the typical higher rates of consumption. Conversely, if you live in a small flat, then select Low so that your display can make full use of the dials. This setting only affects the electricity and gas dials and does not alter your readings or history and can be changed at any time. The options are:• Low• Medium (default)• Highmenu optionsCredit warningIf you have a smart meter in prepayment mode, then you can set the threshold at which your Duet II will create an alert to let you know your credit is getting low.The warning is set in cost (£/€) and is the same for both electricity and gas.Advanced menuYour Duet II has a number of advanced menus and information screens that you do not normally need to access. You should only access these menus if asked to by your utility.DisplayDetails specific to this Duet IIElec MeterDetails about your electricity smart meterGas MeterDetails about your gas smart meter (if installed)Date and timeThe current date and time, as taken from the smart meterSignalsignal strength to the smart meterDuet II| User manualInstallationThis menu is for installation purposes only and is PIN protected.messagesIf your utility has sent you a message, then k will be shown on the upper screen. To view your messages (up to 30 can be stored), select Messages from the main menu.Navigate up and down the list using the left and right buttons and press read to open a message.Messages are listed with the most recent at the top. Each message is shown by the date it was received by your Duet II and icons that indicate the type of message.menu options21Messages indicators: a unread message dmessage is urgente message needs to be confirmedor requires acceptance / rejection f message was previously accepted g message was previously rejected h message has a time limit and willbe deleted automatically Once a message has been accepted or rejected it cannot be changed.select back to return to the main menu.Viewing a messageSelect a message from the Messages list by pressing read .Press the delete button to remove the message from the message list.If the message requires you to make a choice, you will be required to accept or reject the message before you can delete the message.Press close to return to the list of messages.Duet II| User manual TROUBLESHOOTING FaQsMy display is not showing any readingsThis could be because your display is out of range and not communicating with the smart meter. You can check the signal strength from the Signal option in the Advanced menu.If the display cannot communicate with the smart meter, it will show Connecting to smart meter... and the upper display will show no readings. If the display shows No Network then contact your utility. Why has my display turned off? Usage example:--- first pass ---LoadPlugin("DeDup.dll")AVISource("blah.avi")DupMC(log="blah.dup.txt")---------------------- second pass ---LoadPlugin("DeDup.dll")AVISource("blah.avi")DeDup(threshold=0.3, maxcopies=10, maxdrops=3, log="blah.dup.txt", times="blah.times.txt")-------------------First Pass Options:DupMC(clip c, bool chroma, string log)chroma:default: trueUse chroma planes when calculating differences.(This is the same as in Dup)log:default: none. required.File to save dup metrics for the second pass.DupMC does not modify the frames passed through it. It only generates the log. There is no harm in seeking during the first pass: The log will be out of order, but DeDup doesn't care.Unlike Dup, which compares the last frame in a run to the first frame, DupMC always compares adjacent frames. You don't decide on a threshold untilthe second pass.Second Pass Options:DeDup(clip c, float threshold, float threshold2, int range2, float trigger2,bool show, bool dec, int maxcopies, int maxdrops, bool blend, string log, string times, string timesin, string ovr, string debug)threshold:range: 0 - 100default: 0.3Consecutive frames that differ by less than or equal to this much will bemerged into a single output frame, taken from the end of the merged sequence.(This uses the same units as in Dup)threshold2:range: 0 - 100default: 0.5 (but disabled due to range2)Use this instead of threshold if there are nearby high-motion frames inboth directions. (Actually, linearly interpolate between threshold andthreshold2 based on the amount of motion.)range2:range: 0 - lots (sane values: 0 - maxdrops)default: 0 (disabled)Search range for threshold2.trigger2:range: 0 - 100default: 5.0What counts as "high-motion" for threshold2.show:default: falsePrint diagnostic information into each frame.dec:default: trueDrop frames. Without this, DeDup won't do much. But you might want todisable this with show=true, to see the frames that would be dropped.maxcopies:range: 1 - 20default: 12Break any string of duplicates longer than this.(This is the same as in Dup.)maxdrops:range: 1 - maxcopiesdefault: 1 (no dropped frames (like the original Dup))Max input to output frame ratio.(So maxdrops=3 means a max of 2 consecutive dropped frames.)Don't set this above 3-4 or so if you want to display subtitles, because manymedia players can't update the subtitles until they get a new video frame.decwhich:Which frame from a run of duplicates do we keep?0: first frame1: middle, round down2: middle, round up (default)3: lastlog:default: none. The file created in the first pass with DupMC().Required, unless you want to specify every frame with ovr.times:default: none.File to write matroska timecodes to.Not strictly required, but you'll need it for muxing unless maxdrops=1.timesin:default: none.Read timestamps for a VFR input.Matroska timecode formats v1 and v2 accepted.ovr:default: none.File to override settings on a per-frame basis. See below for format.debug:default: none.File to write the same information as with show=true.Override File Format:Example:0-350 threshold=.3350-900 threshold=.7 threshold2=1.5 trigger2=8.0100 k200-220 ddkAny line not beginning with a frame number is ignored as a comment. There is no notation for 'last frame', aside from using it's real frame number. However, it's OK for ranges to extend past the end of the movie. If two lines override the same property of the same frame, the one later inthe ovr file takes precedence. Each line is of the format:startframe-endframe option [more options]orframe option [more options]Option overrides accepted:A string matching /[kd]+/:This forces the frame(s) to be (k) kept or (d) considered dups. The string of [kd]s will be repeated as necessary to fill the frame range.Forcing a dup does not necessarily cause that frame to be dropped;it's still subject to maxdrops. This option modifies thresholds, so put any [kd] option after any relevantthreshold override.threshold=%fthreshold2=%ftrigger2=%fThese are the same as the global options.range2=%dThe range2 parameter is taken from the frame being considered from dropping, not from the frames being searched over.maxdrops=%dmaxcopies=%dThese values are taken from the frame at the end of the clump of dups, butit's better to just set them the same over the whole clump.Tips:If you're doing other CPU-intensive filtering, you can save time (at the cost of space) by saving the first pass (with DupMC) to a huffyuv, and then run the second pass (with DeDup) from that, instead of repeating the other filters.Don't set threshold too high (especially if maxcopies is large): Unlike the original Dup, I don't do sanity checking on slowzooms/pans/fades.The second pass options 'times' and 'debug' take effect as soon as youopen the avs. You don't have to play/encode the whole video in order to producethose files.。
