课文知识点
1. 一般过去时情态动词的句型转换：
(1)could引导的一般过去时的否定句，在could之后加not：could not=couldn’t
Six years ago, I could write.(否定句)
Six years ago, I couldn’t write.
(2)could引导的一般过去时的一般问句，将could调至句首：
Mike could read and draw.(一般问句)
Could Mike read or draw?
(3)could引导的特殊问句：特殊疑问句+could引导的一般问句： They could ride a bike.(对画线部分提问)
Could they ride a bike(用do what替换) ？
What could they do？
2. 一般过去时和一般现在时的动词形式对比：时间决定时态
根据句中时间副词的不同，使用不同的动词形式。重在引导学生区分动词原
形、三单和动词过去时。可以采用表格的方式进行呈现，同时配合一般现在时的练习加以巩固。Unit4中出现的动词总结如下：

3. 字母组合er的发音：/ə/。
4. 有关今昔对比作文的写法：Unit4 Then and now其实参照的是高中英语中的作
文基础写作，采用过去和现在对比的方式，教会学生如何写作。围绕的话题是
“Changes in our life”，也可以说是“Compare the past with the present”,让学生学会
写作格式的同时，理解一般过去时和一般现在时的不同之处。
5. 有关某国人复数的表示：口诀：中日不变，英法变，其余+s
"某国人"的复数有三种类型：
1） Chinese, Japanese国人单数复数同形，不需加s。（还有 Swiss（瑞士人）
2） Englishman, Frenchman复数要把man 变为men。（Dutchman（荷兰人）也
是）
3） 其他各国人以–an, -ian收尾的均直接加s。如：Americans, Australians,，Germans
等。

10. go on to do, go on doing和go on with这三个短语区别
go on to do sth.是指做完一件事后转而去做其它事情。例如：
He went on to show us how to do it. 他转而向我们示范了如何做。
go on doing sth. 常常指继续或不间断地做某事。例如：
You can’t go on working without a break. 你不能不停地工作而不休息。
go on with则意味着一度终止后，而又继续下去。例如：
He took a cup of coffee, and went on with his story. 他喝了杯咖啡，又继续讲他的
