二、学情分析本单元的学习内容帮助学生了解并学习关于世界地理的初步知识，八年级的学生也具备了一定得听说读写能力，但关键问题是八年级学生两极分化现象明显，容易形成基础好的学生积极参与，基础差的学生不敢张口的情况，所以在教学中要设计不同层次的问题，对能力水平较差的学生多给予鼓励，增强其自信心。
三、教学目标知识目标：1.学习掌握单词:planet, total, increase, surface,Indian.2.学会运用短语: in total , one third, be covered with……, two thirds.能力目标：能用英语简要介绍所要描写的国家等地理的基本特征。
