摘要：随着课改的不断深入，在高中英语阅读教学中改变传统的阅读教学，倡导自主性学习，形成学生自己想学、愿学的学习方式，为学生积极创设参与阅读活动的条件和氛围，让学生学会主动求知，获取知识的学习模式，调动学生自主阅读的动力，培养学生的阅读能力，让学生读有动力，读有方法，读有创造，读有个性。
本文探讨在高中英语教学中指导学生进行自主性阅读的一些方法。

《普通高中英语课程标准》（以下简称《标准》）提出基础教育阶段课程的任务之一是，“激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣，形成有效的学习策略，发展自主学习的能力和合作精神。
”《标准》还对高中阶段英语课程的总体目标（七级）作了如下描述：“有明确和持续的学习动机参与计划、组织和实施各种语言实践活动。
能主动利用各种教育资源进行学习。
具有较强的自我调控能力，初步形成适合自己的学习策略。
一、激发学生的阅读兴趣和阅读动机
教师在阅读教学中要培养学生对英语阅读的直接兴趣，使其变“要我读”为“我要读”。
“动机是一个人为达到某种目的的一种内驱力。
”这种内驱力的挖掘、培养、形成就是我们常说的变被动学习为主动学习的本质内涵，而兴趣是学习动机最活跃的成分，是自主学习的动力！学习动机是影响学习效果的重要因素。
从多个方面帮助学生体会英语阅读的重要性，提高其对阅读的兴趣。
在实际教学中，笔者是这样培养学生学习兴趣的：
1、灵活处理教材，根据需要对阅读材料进行补充、替换和重新排列等，以激发学生的阅读兴趣。
譬如：在高二上册Unit 4 A Garden of Poems教学时，不是按教材的顺序而是以学生的兴趣爱好为动力，把教材进行重组，即把最后的一部分的“Right Here Waiting”这首英语歌曲作为本单元的导入。
学生在优美的音乐旋律中，欣赏英语歌曲，阅读理解歌词大意；教师再通过介绍歌作者的创作过程以及演唱者Richard Marx 的演绎经历，从而激发了他们学习英语诗歌的兴趣，为后面教学Robert Frost的诗歌“Dust of Snow ”及阅读文章“English Poetry”作好铺垫。
2、帮助学生选择难易适中、语言地道、富于时代感的课外阅读材料，以扩大学生阅读量。
笔者在实验中使用了《新概念英语》第二册深受学生欢迎。
如精选一些英文报刊杂志上登载的文章及网络资源，这些东西和学生的生活关系密切，他们也渴望了解与时尚流行有关的一些词语的英语表达方法，如航空航天、克隆、基因等。
再如，可以把《
Crazy English 》中的一些时文如Being Two Halves介绍给学生。
二、在学生实施自主阅读过程中教师要监控和指导
教师在充分给予学生自主选择权的同时，要注意统一的管理和监控，不能放任自流。
让学生自己选择阅读内容和方法、自己安排时间，充分体现学生的自主性和个性化。
也要给予正确的指导。
教师要规定统一时间周期（如以1个周为单位），确定最小的阅读量等。
1、指导学生制定切实可行的阅读学习目标，制订个性化的阅读学习计划，使学生体验阅读的乐趣，对阅读产生浓厚的兴趣。
比如，学生制订的阅读学习目标是“本学期提高英语阅读能力”，这个目标太大，没有可操作性。
教师可以指导学生将其分解为“能通过上下文克服困难，理解语篇意义”“能通过文章中的线索进行推理”“能
理解文章主旨和作者意图”等目标，并根据这些目标制订相应的阅读学习计划。

2、对学生进行阅读技巧和阅读策略的指导。
学生对阅读技巧知之甚少，教师要时时注意教授方法。
在实验中采取教学活动渗透与专门训练相结合的方式；使用的教材有人民教育出版社的SEEC 2A 和2B教材、《新概念英语》第2册、高二英语阅读配套材料等。
训练的策略包括预测、速读、略读、跳读、寻读、猜测生词、识别指代关系等。
还有在阅读中记笔记、写评论、做阅读记录等。
例如，有一位同学在英语周记中写道：阅读技巧的学习使我受益非浅，阅读速度有了提高。
学习英语的信心更强了。

最后，在师生、生生间进行交流、讨论、成立阅读小组并在组内交流。
例如，教SESB5UNIT3Life in the future时，布置单元主题课题是未来生活，发动学生查找大量的资料，学生很感兴趣，下载的图片和文章都很有新意。
在这个过程中，学生自主阅读的能力得到了提高。
三、指导学生不断监控自己的阅读过程和评价阅读结果
自我监控和评估是学生将学习成果与自己的预设目标相对照的过程，是学生对阅读过程的反思和改进。
让学生清楚自己在学习中真正需要什么，以便有的放矢地展开阅读活动；监控自己的阅读学习过程；记录学生的阅读经历；反思自己的阅读方法、还要求学生进行阅读交流、评价自己的阅读活动。

在目前学生缺乏直接听、说外语机会的情况下，通过阅读接触外语，吸收语言材料，获得信息是一种重要的学习外语的途径。
然而，长期以来高中学生外语阅读量严重不足，阅读质量久居不上。
而且大多数教师的阅读教学局限于以应试为目的的阅读训练，并没有从提高学生获取信息能力、提高学生人文素质的角度进行阅读教学，也没有对学生阅读习惯、阅读兴趣以及课外阅读阅读能力的培养给予足够重视。
目前中学生的英语课外阅读现状如何？他们的阅读条件、阅读兴趣倾向和对阅读的认识态度究竟如何？他们是否掌握了应有的阅读技巧，得到了应有的帮助？这就是我们要探究并解决的问题。
一、学生课外阅读的现状通过有关部门对问卷调查进行统计分析，我们发现高中学生英语阅读的状况不容乐观，主要表现在：（一）课外阅读的目的非常功利。
大多数学生认为课外阅读的目的是为了提高考试成绩，如果对考试成绩提高没有帮助，就不再进行课外阅读；只有少数学生是因为兴趣爱好或者希望了解国际时事。
超过70%的学生认为课外阅读就是对考试时的阅读理解题型有很大帮助，对写作、词汇等题型有一些帮助。

为提高课前预习效果，教师首先要明确预习作业的任务，其次要做好作业的展示和评价。
具体做法如下：(1) 明确课前预习作业的任务。
在布置课前预习作业时，教师要避免随意性，要给学生提出具体的任务，这是提高学生作业完成质量的前提。
下面以人教版《高中英语》模块八单元三阅读文章“The Problem of the Snakes”预习作业为例，介绍明确课前预习作业任务的具体做法。
本单元的话题是“发明者与发明”，单元的主阅读文章介绍了作者发明“捕蛇器”的五个步骤。
