1. Changes in Sunshine Town
Help the students to review the changes in Sunshine Town. Give them chances to show themselves in class and remind them that they should pay attention to the tense when they describe the past and the present of Sunshine Town.

Work in groups and discuss the changes Mr Chen has experienced.

1. Mr Chen’s housing

simple past tense and the present perfect tense.
(3) Learn the language point—marry. Then do some exercises.

(1) Ask the students to complete two passages and talk about the town’s past and present.

3. Pollution
(1) Show some pictures and talk about the advantages and disadvantages of development.

(3) Ask the students to t hink over the question: What’s the development of the society? Tell
them that the government has realized the problems and is trying to improve the situation.
(4) Learn the language point—improve and improvement. Then do some exercises.
(5) Have a group discussion: What does the development of the society bring us? What action
can we take to improve the situation?
4. Mr Chen’s life
(1) Talk about what Mr Chen thinks of the present life. Learn more phrases about “way”. And
translate two sentences.
